Manchester United stayed top of the Premier League table as champions Liverpool could only manage a 0-0 draw with their great rivals at Anfield.

Manchester United legend Roy Keane said: “It was a big test for them today.

“They were sloppy in the first 15, 20 minutes, McTominay and Fred were loose with some of their passes, Pogba was, Fernandes was.

“Ole should be okay with the draw. The progress they’ve made over the last six months, for us to be even discussing it, Man United are top of the table.

“They’ve come away from Liverpool with a draw, it’s been real progress. The next part is the hardest part in terms of staying up there, winning these tight games.

“They’ve not quite showed that yet, but overall I would be pleased with their performance. They dug in.

“If you want to win trophies and big prizes, you’re not going to play well every game. The back four were brilliant, there are plenty of pluses for United.”

Asked by Micah Richards if United have got enough to win the title, he replied: I don’t know.

“I’m changing my mind every few weeks… every few minutes.

“These type of performances, United should be encouraged by it.”
