Around one in 115 people in private households in England had Covid-19 between February 6 and 12, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) has said.

This is marked decrease from around one in 80 people from January 31 to February 6.

The lower end of the UK's coronavirus R estimate is 0.6 - which is the lowest R range seen since the Government first started publishing the figures in May 2020.

It means that the number of new infections is shrinking by between three and six per cent every day.
